Most of the Uarts illustration department is working with Eastern State Penitentiary designing products and logos that could potentially be sold in their gift shop. I designed an apron because I like me some bbq and monsters. Hope they dig it.
My Illustration class was asked to design a poster/postcard advertising our portfolio day. The department decided to title it "Words and Pictures" Because there will be a guest lecturer speaking "words" to go along with our "pictures." Goddamn clever. Anyway, I illustrated this triumphant mechanic standing on top of this robot he built because portfolio day is all about showcasing what you've created. We all have to build badass portfolios so we can go out to the real world and fuck shit up, much like how this mechanic will proceed to destroy civilizations with his creation.
Everyone in the UArts Illustration department is required to design a poster advertising our senior thesis show, the Ely (shivers run down spine). Of course, only one from the entire department will be chosen. The overall theme of the posters is meant to revolve around finding one's self, moving forward, inspiration and all that jazz yadda yadda ya. This be mah design.
This is a project I originally did in September, but I recently re-did it after going through many stylistic changes and struggles over the past semester. I think I finally got into a decent groove with how I execute my work.
After much hacking the mainframe I finally found a way back into my my blogger account using my uarts email address. I
forget how I did it.
Anyway, lets begin the first post. I did one drawing at work today. Then a few hours later I did another. Then I realized they look cool when I put them together, so I did and added color.
